PHB-300

PHB-300 Series Benchtop pH Meters
PHB-305, PHB-310, PHB-320

The Model PHB-305 pH Meter offers a straightforward and traditional approach to pH measurement while utilizing modern technology to enhance accuracy and reliability. The specification of this product provides all features essential for pH and associated measurements.

Mode selection and adjustment is by front panel rotary controls which, together with a large 25mm liquid crystal display, provides a clear indication of instrument status. This is particularly useful in the educational sector or in any laboratory looking for a low cost analytical solution.

The Model PHB-305 can also be used as a signal voltmeter which enables the determination of Redox (ORP) potentials or simple ion analysis. The unit gives an accurate readout of temperature and automatically compensates the pH electrode response for temperature variations(ATC).

An analog output gives a buffered electrode potential. Connection is via two 4mm sockets.

The Model PHB-310 pH Meter is ideal for use in any busy laboratory. Ease of use and economical pricing combine to make this unit the first choice for many routine situations

A custom liquid crystal display enables the simultaneous readout of pH (or mV) and temperature. Mode indication, prompts and error messages are presented in an easily understood format. A simple control panel, used in conjunction with the display, ensures that even inexperienced operators can achieve reliable results. All user defined parameters are stored in the non-volatile memory and are therefore retained for immediate recall even after extended periods with power disconnected.

Calibration routines are push-button initiated and the buffer recognition facility will automatically identify and set to the appropriate temperature corrected calibration values (unless manually overridden). If an anomaly is encountered during the calibration process an explicit error message will be displayed. Sensor response can be displayed in millivolts for Redox (ORP) or ion selective measurements. The mV reading can be made in absolute terms or the absolute value can be offset to zero to enable a relative change to be easily tracked. An end point detection icon is used to indicate when readings have reached a steady state.

Temperature measurement is displayed and used for automatic temperature compensation to correct for the changes in electrode response with variations in temperature. A manual temperature value can be entered if desired.

The PHB-310 can download directly to a computer or printer via its bi-directional RS232 link and provides an analog output for connection to a chart recorder or data logger.

The Model PHB-320 is a research grade pH meter offering a host of valuable features, but retaining simplicity of operation. The LCD Graphics display enables unambiguous readout of the measured parameters and also prompts the user with plain language instructions. The structured menus allow easy access to features with single key strokes. Appropriate error messages are displayed and with the ôHELPö menus, guidance is given for corrective actions. Temperature measurement is displayed and provides compensation for the effects of temperature on the response of the pH electrode.

The unit is programmed to automatically recognize 2.00, 4.00, 7.00, 9.22 and 10.05 calibration buffers and compensate calibration values for the associated temperature characteristics. User defined buffer values can also be manually entered. The instrument will provide a choice of 1, 2 or 3 point calibration. In addition, the electrode slope can be monitored and displayed.

While primarily intended for pH determinations, the Model PHB-320 iis capable of displaying the sensor output in millivolts allowing use of ion Selective Electrodes and determination of Redox (ORP) potentials. The mV reading can be made in absolute terms or offset to enable relative changes to be easily tracked.

The unit features a 100 memory location data-logging facility which enables storage of results. Subsequent recall of individual or multiple results can be made to display or down loaded to a printer or PC via the bi-directional RS232 link. Logged results ae stored in non-volatile memory. A real time clock permanently displays either day, month and year or hours, minutes and seconds thus satisfying the requirements of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) quality assurance protocols. All logged results and calibration routines are time stamped. User programmable options include the ability to prompt calibration or measurement at pre-determined intervals and the setting of alarm points which are activated when the measured parameters fall outside preset limits. A printout of a typical result along with the necessary GLP is shown.

A polarized Karl Fischer output is provided. Karl Fischer titrations are enabled by the provision of a 10uA polarizing current output.
